PADDY KENNINGTON, Ph.D., LPC, NCC

I have always enjoyed working with people in many, many ways:  counselor/therapist, teacher,

trainer, volunteer coordinator, organization manager, cook, blood banker, supervisor, advocate, advisor, and good buddy! 

 

Over a span of forty years, I have been a college professor, high school biology teacher, community activist, adult educator, manager of a soup kitchen, food bank, and night shelter, hospital lab tech, group facilitator, curriculum developer and editor, and counselor/therapist. I have experience in

mental health administration, general counseling, and specialized therapy with people who

have issues with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and dissociation. My areas of expertise are in trauma therapy, stress and depression, women's issues, grief and loss, spirituality, and training

and supervision. 

I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and a graduate minor in Psychology from North Carolina

State University. My masters degree (M.Ed). is in Counseling and Psychological Services from

Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Since 1996, I have been a Licensed Professional

Counselor in the State of Georgia and a certified counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors (NCC)®. I am a Certified EMDR therapist (reprocessing therapy) and continue advanced education in many areas of psychotherapy including dissociation, psychopharmacology, PTSD, stress and anxiety, and neurobiology.

 

 

Some of the other counseling organizations to which I belong are: The American Counseling Association, EMDR International Association, International Society for the Study of Trauma and

Dissociation, the Georgia Therapists' Network, and the MetroAtlanta Therapists' Network. 

I serve as Formation Director of the Third Order, Province of the Americas, Society of St. Francis.
